BIOZYME PROTECT is a concentrated acid bio-polishing enzyme in liquid form which plays a crucial role in the textile industry especially in fabric finishing treatment suitable for bio-polishing and bio fading of cotton and cellulosic goods. It is suitable for colour fading for denim garments and bio-polishing of knits, fabrics & terry towels. Biofeel-PST gives a very good performance on scoured or grey fabric after treatment with the wetting agent.
To avoid excess strength loss of garments and materials after bio-polishing, it is recommended deactivation of BIOZYME PROTECT after the treatment.
Characteristics |
Benefits |
---|---|
Eco-friendly & biodegradable product | BIOZYME PROTECT is biodegradable, making it environmentally friendly compared to some other chemical treatments. This aligns with the growing emphasis on sustainable and eco-friendly practices in the textile industry. |
Imparts soft feel to fabric | After bio-polishing it enhances the softness of fabrics. These enzymes break down the micro fibrils on the surface of the fabric, resulting in a smoother and softer feel. This is especially important for cotton-based fabrics, as it improves comfort and wear ability. |
Improve appearance of dyed substrate | BIOZYME PROTECT can enhance the appearance of fabrics by reducing pilling, fuzziness, and the tendency to wrinkle. This contributes to a more polished and aesthetically pleasing final product. |
Improve brightness of substrate | BIOZYME PROTECT can help improve the colour fading effect on dyed fabrics. The enzymatic treatment can remove impurities and loose fibers from the fabric surface, resulting in a cleaner and more vibrant appearance. |
Reduces environmental impacts | Compared to traditional chemical processes, BIOZYME PROTECT can reduce the need for harsh chemicals and the generation of chemical waste. This aligns with efforts to minimize the environmental impact of textile production. |
Energy efficient product | BIOZYME PROTECT can be conducted at lower temperatures usually 50-60⁰C. This can contribute to energy savings and may be advantageous in terms of both cost and environmental impact. |

Application:
Dosage of BIOZYME PROTECT shall vary from process to process.
- BIOZYME PROTECT : 0.5% – 2.0% o.w.f. / as per effect required
- pH : 4 – 5.5
- Temp. : 50-600C
- Time : 30-40 Min
Note:
- First pH of water to be adjusted to 4.7-5.5 and then BIOZYME PROTECT to be added.
- After bio-polishing treatment, raise the temperature to 80 degree C for 10 min. or adjust pH to 10 to terminate action of enzyme. The material can then be finished using chemical finishes as usual.
- pH of fabric should be neutral and free from residual peroxide.
- Combined bio-polishing and peroxide elimination can be carried out for cotton knits and terry towels prior to reactive dyeing. Bio-polishing is usually recommended before cationic dye-fixation or cationic softening or optical brightening agent.
- Absorbency of fabric/garment should be good.
